Breastfeeding classes are a great way to jump start your breastfeeding knowledge and meet other new parents. Sweet Pea Breastfeeding Support offers several breastfeeding classes to meet your needs. All classes are taught by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Each lasts about 2 hours, which includes time for questions and discussion. Classes will take place at our office located within AmberSky at 3100 Sutton Blvd in Maplewood.

Introduction to Breastfeeding
for expectant parents.
This class will provide expectant parents with the resources and tools they need to have the best possible breastfeeding experience. We will cover preparing for breastfeeding, breastfeeding in the first few hours, days, and weeks; positioning; the partner's role; breastfeeding supplies; returning to work; and common challenges.
The ideal time to take this class is 4-8 weeks before your baby is due.

Inducing Lactation or Relactation
for non-birthing parents interested in breastfeeding, birthing parents who never initiated or discontinued breastfeeding too soon, or professionals who support these special parents.
This class will cover breastfeeding basics as well as what to expect when breastfeeding a baby by adoption or surrogacy, how to induce lactation, teaching a bottle-fed baby to breastfeed, how to supplement your milk production, and resources for more information and support. This class includes a complimentary copy of Breastfeeding Without Birthing.
The ideal time to take this class is as soon as you are considering initiating or resuming breastfeeding.
